About This Game
Google’s Dinosaur Game is the little T-Rex game that pops up in Chrome when the internet goes down, but now you can always play here. You see a cute dinosaur standing in a desert with some cacti. When you press the space bar, the dinosaur starts to run. From that moment your job is clear. You keep the T-Rex away from danger for as long as you can. If it hits a cactus or a bird, the run stops and you see your score.
Playing Google’s Dinosaur Game feels easy to learn. You only use a couple of buttons. Press space or the up arrow to jump over cacti. Later in the run you can press the down arrow to duck under flying dinosaurs. On a phone you just tap to jump. At the start the world scrolls slowly, so you have time to react. After a while the ground moves faster and the gaps between obstacles get smaller. You need quicker jumps and cleaner timing. Each time you crash, you tap once and the T-Rex runs again.
Kids often like Google’s Dinosaur Game because it is short and clear. There are no big menus or stories to read. You look at the screen, watch the desert, and react when a cactus comes close. After you play a few rounds, you start to feel the rhythm of the jumps. You try to beat your last score and stay focused a little longer. It helps with hand and eye coordination and with simple timing skills, while still staying calm and easy to understand.
