About Anikas Odyssey Land Of The Taniwha

Anika’s Odyssey: Land of the Taniwha follows a farm girl after a huge eagle snatches her stuffed rabbit. She leaves her hilltop home and travels through a world shaped by New Zealand’s wild coast and forest. Hand-drawn scenes show mossy rocks, clear rivers, tall ferns, and worn carvings. Creatures from local lore cross her path, including a taniwha that guards deep water.

You guide Anika by clicking parts of each scene. She moves, picks paths, and triggers small chains of actions that form each puzzle. There is no inventory to manage. Progress comes from noticing how animals and objects react. You might distract a crab to cross a log or ride a helpful bird across a gap. Each step feels clear when you spot the cue. A few moments need careful timing.

The story unfolds without text or speech. Expressions and small gestures carry the mood, and a soft soundtrack of wind, water, and distant calls adds to it. The journey runs under half an hour and stays focused from start to finish. It offers a grounded take on a child’s quest with echoes of Māori legend. Simple controls and responsive scenes make it easy to share with someone new to this kind of adventure.
