Explore Champion Island as Lucky the Cat
Doodle Champion Island Games is a large sports adventure created as an interactive Google Doodle. You play as Lucky, a calico cat who arrives on Champion Island and discovers a world filled with sports, strange characters, side quests, and places inspired by Japanese culture and folklore.
Instead of playing one short mini-game, you can freely explore the island. Lucky talks to characters, visits different areas, helps island residents, and competes against powerful sports champions.
Compete in Seven Sports
Champion Island contains seven main sporting events. They are table tennis, skateboarding, archery, rugby, artistic swimming, sport climbing, and marathon running.
Each sport has its own controls and style. Skateboarding focuses on tricks. Archery tests your aim. Climbing asks you to move upward while avoiding danger. Rugby plays very differently from table tennis.
Winning each main event earns Lucky a sacred scroll.
The larger goal is to defeat all seven champions and collect every scroll.
Join One of Four Teams
Lucky can join one of four color teams. This gives the island competition another layer beyond the individual sports.
The world also contains many side quests. Characters may ask Lucky to find something, solve a problem, deliver an item, or help with another task.
These smaller stories reward exploration. Walking away from the main sports areas can lead to characters and challenges you might otherwise miss.
Enjoy a Retro Adventure Style
Doodle Champion Island Games uses colorful pixel graphics inspired by older 16-bit games. Animated story scenes were created with Japanese animation studio Studio 4°C. Japanese legends and mythical creatures also inspire several characters and sports champions.
The game celebrates the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic period while turning the sports theme into a full adventure.
