Get to Know About Circus
Circus is a 1977 arcade action game by Exidy. You control a seesaw and fling clowns into rows of balloons near the top of the screen. The premise looks simple at first. The pace soon increases and the arc becomes tricky to read. A single miss costs a life and breaks your rhythm.
Each turn starts with one clown leaping from a side platform onto the seesaw. That jump launches the partner upward toward the balloons. You slide under the falling clown to catch and send them back up. Bursting balloons builds the score, and letter targets can spell C I R C U S for a bonus. Later rounds tighten the gaps and force sharper angles.
The look stays stark with a dark field and bright balloons that stand out. Sound effects ping with each hit and help your timing. Sessions run short and keep the high score chase focused. The game rewards steady hands and consistent judgment. The circus theme comes through in movement and sound rather than story.
