About Portal: The Flash Version
Portal: The Flash Version turns Portal’s puzzle design into a 2D platformer. We Create Stuff released it in 2007 and built a full set of test chambers. The game strips the idea down to clean rooms and focused goals. You work through 40 chambers with tight layouts. Hazards, buttons, and cubes shape each room.
Your device fires two linked portals in orange and blue. Step through one and exit the other to cross gaps. Build speed by falling, then launch across long spaces. Place portals on allowed surfaces and line up shots with care. The game mixes turrets, energy balls, moving platforms, acid pits, and weighted cubes to push new tricks.
Each chamber builds on the last with small twists. Early rooms focus on aim and timing. Later tests chain several ideas and demand tighter placement. The team later rebuilt these stages as a map pack for Portal and kept the 2D layouts inside a 3D space. The project spread online and gave fans a compact way to practice portal logic.
